edison-logo-new-12-january-16The EDISON project organised and delivered on February 9th in Brussels a workshop entitled: “Data Infrastructure Competences and Skills Framework: a European and Global Challenge”. The main objective of this event was to take stock of the main initiatives and projects in the digital infrastructure ecosystem and map their contributions to the definition of an ambitious European framework for developing skills and competences. The event was well attended by several Data Science projects and other initiatives, including EUDAT, RItrain/CORBEL, ELIXIR and EPOS. The EDSA project was represented by Alexander Mikroyannidis from the Open University.

EDISON is a new EU project, aiming at accelerating the process of establishing the profession of Data Scientist. This will be achieved by coordinating the vision and activities of the stakeholders who will contribute to and benefit from Data Science as a professional practice.
